SUMMARY

1. If a woman sees blood during marital relations it is forbidden to separate immediately.

2. A person has relations with his wife the day prior to her expected period. She sees blood and he separates immediately. If he is an Am ha'Aretz, he is Chayav only one Chatas.

3. A person has relations with his wife on *the day* of her expected period. She sees blood and he separates immediately. If he is an Am ha'Aretz, he is Chayav a Chatas.

4. A Talmid Chacham has relations with his wife on the day of her expected period. She sees blood and he separates immediately. He may be Chayav two Korbenos Chatas.

5. If a man sees blood on his cloth after having relations, both he and his wife are Tamei and must bring a Korban.

6. If a woman sees blood on her cloth after having relations, both she and her husband are Safek Tamei. They do not bring a Korban.

7. Rava says someone who has relations with an Ervah with an Ever Mes is exempt from punishment.

8. A person must separate from his wife for the day or the night that she is expecting her period.

9. Rebbi Yochanan says that a man who separates from his wife for the day or night that she is expecting her period and a man who makes Havdalah on wine will merit to have sons.

10. A person was aware that he was Tamei but was unaware whether he was Tamei from a Sheretz or Neveilah. He subsequently forgot that he was Tamei and entered the Mikdash. Rebbi Eliezer maintains that he is exempt from a Korban.

11. A person unintentionally transgresses an Aveirah for which he is Chayav Kares. Rebbi Eliezer maintains that he must bring a Korban Chatas even if he is not aware exactly which Aveirah he transgressed.

A BIT MORE

1. Separating immediately is pleasurable and therefore the husband must dig his nails into the ground until he has an Ever Mes and then he may separate.

2. An Am ha'Aretz does not know that it is forbidden to separate immediately and is Chayav a Chatas. If he is a Talmid Chacham, he is a Mezid and he is exempt from a Chatas because he is aware of the prohibition.

3. Although he is Shogeg both for the prohibition of having relations immediately prior to her expected period and for the prohibition of separating immediately when she sees blood during relations, since it was done in one He'elem he is Chayav only one Chatas.

4. If he was not aware of the prohibition of separating from his wife after she sees blood he is Chayav two Korbenos: one for having relations when she is expected to see blood, and a second one because he separated immediately without waiting. It is not regarded as one He'elem because a Talmid Chacham is aware that it is prohibited to have relations with his wife on the day of her expected period. Nevertheless, it is a Shogeg since he thought that he would complete the marital relations before she would see blood.

5. Since he had blood on the cloth with which he wiped himself, it is obvious that she had already seen blood at the time of relations. Therefore, he is also Tamei because he is a Bo'el Nidah. They are Chayav a Korban if they had relations during the day of her expected period.

6. If she wiped herself immediately after having relations, they are definitely Tamei and they are Chayav a Korban. If she delayed a little before wiping herself, they are only Safek Tamei because she saw blood only after the act of relations.

7. If a woman sees blood during relations, the man may not separate himself until he has an Ever Mes. Abaye maintains that even if a person is Chayav for relations with an Ever Mes, he may not separate immediately, because if it is possible to separate with little pleasure he may not separate with a lot of pleasure.

8. One who does not separate from his wife on the day of her expected period will lose his sons, even if they are like the sons of Aharon.

9. Rebbi Yehoshua ben Levi says that he will have sons capable of rendering Halachic decisions.

10. Rebbi Akiva disagrees and maintains that since he is aware that he is Tamei it is irrelevant whether he is unaware how he became Tamei.

11. Rebbi Yehoshua disagrees. He maintains that if he is unaware of the exact Aveirah that he transgressed he is not Chayav a Korban Chatas.
