A BIT MORE

1. Mashiach will not come until the families of the Rosh Golah in Bavel and the Nasi in Eretz Yisrael are destroyed.

2. A verse states that Hashem performed an act of Tzedakah for Klal Yisrael by bringing about the Galus of Tzidkiyahu quickly. Mari Bar Mar explains that the hastening of that exile benefited Klal Yisrael because the exile took place while the Talmidei Chachamim of the Galus of Yechanyah were still alive, and the people who went into exile were therefore able to learn Torah from those Talmidei Chachamim. Ula says that the Tzedakah was that they were exiled after only 850 years, as opposed to the 852 years mentioned in the Torah, because if the exile had taken place after 852 years, the prophecy in that verse, which states that Klal Yisrael would be destroyed quickly, would have been fulfilled.

3. The Beraisa discusses several reasons for the fact that Adam ha'Rishon was created alone. One is so that the heretics would not claim that there are many Reshuyos in heaven. Another is that if more than one man had been created, one might have been a Tzadik and another a Rasha, in which case the Tzadikim in the world might reason that their righteousness is innate since they are descendants of a Tzadik and they do not have to exert themselves not to sin, and the Resha'im might reason that they are descendants of a Rasha and their wickedness is innate, so they will not even attempt to do Teshuvah. Another reason is that if more than one man had been created, there would have been different families in the world who would argue with each other, and each one would claim that its forebear was greater than the other families' ancestors. A fourth reason is that if Hashem had created more than one man, the Gazlanim in the world would claim that their acts of theft are justified because they are reclaiming property that belonged to their ancestor.

4. Hashem created each person with a unique appearance and voice so that other people will not be able to impersonate a husband and trick his wife into committing adultery. Hashem created each person with a unique way of thinking because if everyone thought the same way, Gazlanim would be able to figure out where other people keep their money.

5. The Beraisa explains that Hashem created Adam ha'Rishon on Erev Shabbos for several reasons. First of all, if Adam had been created earlier, the heretics might claim that he was a partner with Hashem in the creation of other things in the world. For this reason, Adam was created only after everything else had already been created. Secondly, if a person becomes haughty, he can be rebuked with the fact that a mosquito was created before him. Thirdly, Adam was created right before Shabbos so that he would have the Mitzvah of Shabbos immediately after his creation and so that the entire world would be available to him and he could partake in a Se'udah immediately.

6. The dirt which was used for the body of Adam ha'Rishon was collected from Bavel, the dirt for his head was from Eretz Yisrael, and the dirt for his limbs was from other lands.

7. Before his sin, Adam ha'Rishon's height was equivalent to the distance from one end of the world to the other, which is the same as the distance from the earth to the heaven, but when he sinned Hashem Yisbarach diminished his stature.

8. Hashem Yisbarach showed the sages of all the generations to Adam ha'Rishon. When he saw the generation of Rebbi Akiva, he was happy about Rebbi Akiva's Torah but was saddened by his death.

9. A person should know how to respond to a non-Jewish Apikores, but there is no use responding to a Jewish Apikores because whatever one says to him will make him even more entrenched in his erroneous beliefs.
