SUMMARY

1. A container that is carried even when it is full can become Tamei, even if it is so heavy that it can be carried only by oxen.

2. There are three types of wagons with regard to the laws of Tum'ah.

3. Similarly, there are three types of trunks with regard to the laws of Tum'ah.

4. An earthenware vessel does not become Tamei when a Zav sits on top of it without entering the airspace within its walls.

5. The Mishnah explains how one can plant five different types of vegetables in a square garden patch that measures six by six Tefachim.

A BIT MORE

1. The word "Sak" (sack) in the verse teaches that a vessel can become Tamei only if it is normally carried both when full and when empty (just like a sack). Rava states that this is why a boat can become Tamei according to Chananya; since, when it is grounded, it is pulled by oxen, it is considered something that is normally carried and thus it can become Tamei.

2. A wagon that is intended for people to sit in can become Tamei with Tum'as Medras. A wagon that is used for transporting cargo (a flatbed) can become Tamei with Tum'as Mes (but not Tum'as Medras, since it is not made for people to sit on it). A wagon made for transporting very large stones cannot become Tamei at all, since it generally has large holes that are at least the size of pomegranates (excluding it from being classified as a vessel for purposes of Tum'ah).

3. A trunk that can be opened from its side can become Tamei Medras, since it can be used while a person is lying or sitting on it. A trunk that opens from the top can become Tamei Mes. A trunk that is extremely large and not carried at all does not become Tamei at all.

4. There are two similar opinions regarding the exact source of this derivation. Each derivation compares something that becomes Tamei Medras to the person who makes it Tamei. Both may be immersed in a Mikvah, and thus anything that cannot be made Tahor in a Mikvah is excluded from becoming Tamei Medras.

5. On the four outer sides of the square, one may plant a strip of five Tefachim by about half a Tefach (with a different type of vegetable on each side), leaving about one square half-Tefach in each corner. He may also plant a different type of vegetable in the center of the square.
