SUMMARY

1. Hashem specifically wanted his Shechinah to rest on a bush when He appeared to Moshe.

2. The Mishnah (66b) states that any person may go out on Shabbos with adornments normally worn by royalty.

3. There is a dispute about whether one may wear certain types of charms for healing, such as the tooth of a fox.

4. People would sometimes make a sign that they were sick in order that others should pray for them.

5. The Mishnah discusses how many Korbanos one must bring for various types of accidental Shabbos transgression.

A BIT MORE

1. This is because it is a very low growth, which symbolizes humility, as opposed to a very tall tree which symbolizes haughtiness.

2. The Gemara explains that the Mishnah follows the opinion of Rebbi Shimon, who says that all of Bnei Yisrael are the sons of kings. He does not suspect that the person will become embarrassed to wear it and carry it, or that he will remove it in order to show it off.

3. Rebbi Meir: One may wear this even on Shabbos, since it is for healing. Chachamim: One may not wear this even during the week, since it is forbidden due to Darchei ha'Emori.

4. The origin of this practice is the Torah law that a Metzora who is outside of the camp should proclaim that he is Tamei. The Gemara explains that this is done in order that people should pray that he be healed.

5. For example, a person who completely forgot about Shabbos and he transgressed many Melachos on many Shabbosos is obligated to offer only one Korban Chatas when he realizes his mistake.
