The gemara daf 21a tells us that the daughters of Israel, before they sinned, had no hair under their armpits and no pubic hair. How were they able tell when these women reached maturity if there were no shete s'arot, and according to R.Yehudah ad she yirbeh hashahor al halovan?
The Kollel replies:
The MAHARSHAL answers that they nevertheless had a little hair, because, as you write, otherwise they would have no Simanei Gadlus. See also CHIDUSHEI HA'RAN, who adds that even if they had no hair at all, they would still have Simanim from the grooves from which hairs normally grow.
