A case occurred in which a man uncovered a woman's head [in the market]. She came in front of R. Akiva. He obligated him to pay 400 Zuz. He said 'Rebbi, give to me time [to pay]'; R. Akiva consented.

1.

The man waited for her, and saw her by the entrance to her Chatzer. He broke a small flask of oil in front of her. She uncovered her hair to dab the oil into her hair. The man had witnesses see this, and came in front of R. Akiva;

2.

The man: Why should I pay her 400 Zuz? (She uncovered her hair just to take advantage of a paltry amount of oil!)

R. Akiva: That is no claim. One may not injure himself, but if he does, he is exempt. Others may not injure him, if they do, they are liable.

(Gemara - Rav Karni -Beraisa): For a kick, he pays one [Sela]. If he hit him with his knee, he pays three. If he hit him with the back of the hand, he pays 15. (The ARUCH and other Rishonim explain so.)

One [Chacham] said in the name of Reish Lakish, if one embarrasses a Chacham, he pays his full Boshes;

1.

A certain man acted brazenly to R. Yehudah bar Chaninah. The case came in front of Reish Lakish, and he fined him a Litra of gold. (The Rambam says that this is 35 Dinarim of gold, i.e. 875 Dinarim of silver.)
