(1)The Rashba and other Rishonim ask the obvious question on Rashi's explanation: of course you must interrupt to greet someone who may take your life. If one's life is in danger, one is not obligated in the Mitzvah of Shema at all! To defend Rashi's explanation we must say that the person's life is not actually in danger at that moment. Rather, the person whom he fears *has the ability* to take his life at a later time if he does not maintain a friendly relationship with him. For this reason, it is permitted to interrupt Keri'as Shema for that person every time he comes by.

(4) The Shulchan Aruch adds also "one who has more knowledge than he." The Magen Avraham (cited in the Mishnah Berurah 66:7) refutes this by pointing out that none of the Rishonim categorize someone with more knowledge as Yir'ah (see Column (B) above). In summary, the Halachah follows the more lenient of the opinions as far as what is considered "Kavod" and what is considered "Yir'ah."
